HIKMAT AL-ISHRAQ

My personal notes for studying the Hikmat al-Ishraq by Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi. Suhrawardi (b. 1155) is one of the most important Persian mystics who was executed on the account of heresy (though in reality, clearly politically motivated). His legacy that created a new synthesis of ancient pre-Islamic Iranian traditions, Gnostic-Kemetic wisdom, Greek philosophy and Islamic mystical traditions is enormous. Before I came back to do my art full time, I was studying Sufism in college, and his writings were among the ones that drew me into their world.
